Have you ever felt smothered in a relationship?

A question I asked last night after coming home from a Halloween party. Please check if you like---- And today I went to get gas and while I was pumping gas a nice girl said she was lost and needed directions around the lake where I live. It's a large lake and takes about 1 hour just to drive around it. As I was giving her directions a guy (her boyfriend or husband) walks up and says "Are we making friends or what?" In a sarcastic manner to her I might add. She explained she was asking directions....he interrupts her and says "I know where I'm going....get in the car!" She rolls her eyes and says thank you to me and you can hear them on the other side of the pump. WHY? WHY? WHY? would anyone stay in a relationship like this. He was "rude" to her! Period! I don't know what has transpired between them....but that was no way to treat someone in front of a stranger. I heard her say after they walked around the pump "Why do you act like a 16 year old just because I'm asking for directions? " His response----- Was he giving you directions to his house? I know he is your type...whatever!" OK....OK....this is crazy.....Have you ever felt strangled in a relationship ? Smothered?
