Okay, so i got the zombie in my basement...?

So i was sittin around cleaning my guns today, when i heard the telltale moaning, and long story short the zombie burst in the house and i kicked him into my basement. So since i'm a doctor with an underground lab, should i attempt to incapacitate the fiend and try to find a cure in its congealed blood or simply decapitate it and move on, eliminating all potential threat? Oh, i've got about twenty minutes to decide, its not my strongest door
