I have a 6 year old orange er spaniel he is a pickle and absolutely loveable?

He follows me everywhere and very friendly to all the family but the other day I was sitting quietly on my own watching television when my mother in law crept in to say goodnight all of a sudden Buzz dived out his basket lept on my lap and started growling at her and my other er spaniel came and sat on the floor watching her I told him off but he didn't settle until she went out. Then again I was asleep in bed and my husband came up later he got his pillow and was puffing it up once again he started growling at him he told him off then he came and laid aceoss me until my husband got into bed and went to sleep then he laid at the bottom of my feet where he normally sleeps. He's never done this before and is such fun to be with. My other is totally laid back where Buzz is very hypo and suffers from epilepsy, Has anyone any ideas why he has just started to do this. Over the last year I suffered a heart attack and have suffered two minor strokes but I'm ok and still active. Your help will be appreciated please thank you Jackie.
