Emancipation in BC Canada?

I don't live with my parents and I havn't since August 17th 2009 (over 1 year ago.) I've lived with my boyfriend and his family who have graciously let me stay. My dad is very physically abusive and one fight is the reason I decided I could not take it anymore. My mother insists I am a stupid ***** and that I am mentally unstable as I was forced into seeing psychiatrists and taking many different medications in my years of living there. They are rarely even home and there is no proper food. I dropped out of school at the start of Grade 10 to start working. I am 17 now, I was 15 when I left. My boyfriend is 19. We want to move out and although my parents don't care whatsoever as far as I know it's still not legal for me to move out somewhere and pay rent. So I'm wondering first, since I've heard many different things about the legal moving out age in Canada-- I am in BC and is there such thing as an age where a person under 18 can move out without parental consent? I've heard 16, I've heard 19 (19 doesn't make sense to me since legally you're an adult at 18...) If it's 16, great, where can I go to get proof of that. Otherwise, where can I go or who do i call to begin to become emancipated. I would love to resolve things peacefully with my parents but not by moving back with them, by having them understand and agree to emancipation, but if they won't I still don't know where to start. Thanks.
