How can i get my ipod nano to change from shuffle?

my daughter has a 4th generation ipod nano which was working perfectly til it fell from the docking station onto carpet, now it doesn't work as it did before the screen freezes. i've reset to factory settings it turns on to the language page but i can't change it aas the ons don't respond also it has the shuffle symbol on it how do i turn that off ??
